Non-Profit / Fundraisers

FASTBREAK DREAMS II
Fastbreak Dreams 2 has been set up as a not for profit 501 c 3 under the guidelines of Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The club objectives are to provide children and young adults with the opportunity to participate in a travel / aau basketball experience where they can develop positive self-esteem and build character by learning the virtues of hard work, respect, honesty, self-control, teamwork and sportsmanship. To achieve these objectives, the Club encourages its coaches and team parents to adopt a philosophy that seeks to achieve the following for the players.
1. To learn basketball - individual skills, small group tactics and team tactics, so that each player and his or her team can become the best that they are capable of becoming.
2. To develop an appreciation for sportsmanship and the fundamentals of team play.
3. To respect teammates, coaches, opponents, the referee and the laws of the game.
4. To learn the meaning of dedication and commitment and to experience the relationship between effort and results.
5. To engage in healthy competition.
6. To have fun.

Dear Fastbreak Families,
Jan. 2009,
Please accept our sincere thanks for your donation to our 2008 Today Show Holiday Toy Drive. In today’s economy, many of these families are struggling for the bare necessities and these gifts brought joy and laughter into their homes. Again, we would like to thank you for your support and generosity this past holiday season.
Sincerely,
Sam Sagenkahn and Kate Cook

Fastbreak Families:
Dec.2008,
Over the holidays Fastbreak families donated over 11 boxes chock full of toys, books, clothing, electronic games, school supplies, sports equipment, music CD’s, CD players, videos, computer software and other items suitable for children from infants up to age 18.
This was done through the TODAY SHOW TOY DRIVE which for over 15 years has helped non-profit organizations help children have a brighter holiday by making these generous donations. Last year, donations ranged in value from $500 to more than $6 million, with a total of almost $26 million in donations which were sent to 3 million children in over 200 organizations, charities for children and families. For many of these children, the Today Show is the sole source of holiday gifts.
Thank you so much for all of your contributions please find a note of thanks for our participation from the Today show here.
GO FASTBREAK!
Best wishes,
Sally Fischer
Open letter to Fastbreak and Fastbreak AAU families,
July,2008
Thank you so much for all the generous donations made to Hoops 4 Hope and the kids in that program in Cape Town. When we sent a note to you all a few weeks ago we never could have guess the extent to which you all would respond and gather terrific items for these children.
We are leaving for South Africa with extra suitcases full of everything basketball players need, from headbands to sneakers, including over 70 replica jerseys, 30 sets of shorts and T-shirts, 15 complete uniforms for the 14U team, enough Fastbreak shirts for another older team, a matching set of shirts for a third team and dozens of other items.
The quality of what’s been donated is also outstanding, and makes us think you did a lot more than reach into the back of your closets. We’ll be supplying new or nearly new items that will help the kids there feel good about the program, and improve their chances of staying in school and growing up healthy. We are bringing all stars (Lebron, Marbury, VC, AI, Paul, Hamilton, Ray Allen, Nowitzski, Shaq, Wade, Garnett), legends (Bird, Magic, Walt Frazier) and endorsements (Air Jordans, Converse All Stars).
Of course we will return with pictures, stories and appreciation from children that really need a boost. Thanks again to all of you for really coming through!
Thanks again,
Scott , Bobby (Fastbreak 9u AAU basketball team), Nancy and Seth Shepetin (Fastbreak parents)
